About The Girl
Amy was born over 21 years ago, on the twenty-second of October, in the year 1985. She is immensely proud to share her birthday with Zac Hanson (of the band, Hanson), who was born on the exact same date. She came into this world smiling, or so they say, and was named Amy by her awesome parents. The name Lia came later...For two years Amy was the sole focus of her parents love and attention, until her parents brought forth her only sibling, her sister Jessica, into the world. She was upset, but she's since gotten over it. Through the years, Amy developed a number of loves. Reading, writing, music and more. When she was younger, her favorite books included anything my R.L.Stine, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and To Kill a Mockingbird. Now, her favorite books include Harry Potter (all of them), The Lord of the Rings and just about anything by Tamora Pierce, Stephen King and Dean Koontz.
Anyways, back to her childhood. Amy went through a number of musical loves, including New Kids on the Block. But none truly captured her heart until that fateful summer of 1997, when an unsuspecting Amy turned on her radio and heard the song that changed her life forever, Mmmbop. It was then that Amy was introduced to Hanson. Her obsession soon became full blown, her walls and even her ceiling covered by Hanson posters (Teen Bop Magazine was a frequent buy for this purpose). Her parents will always remember the day when they heard a shrill shriek from their daughter's room. They wondered what was wrong! Was Amy hurt? It was then that Amy hurtled into the room, shaking a magazine in their faces and unable to get the words out to explain what she had discovered. Finally, she managed, "ZAC HANSON HAS THE SAME BIRTHDAY AS ME!!! THE EXACT SAME BIRTHDAY!!! AHHHH!" Or something like that.
Amy has been a Hanson fan since. Her first concert ever was a Hanson concert, (August 30, 1998 - the Hartford Civic Center), which was also the first time she chased a tour bus down the street. And amazingly, Amy is STILL a Hanson fan today. She owns just about every one of their albums (although she no longer has pictures of them posted all over her walls). Hanson is a major part of her life.
Another major part of Amy's life is the graphics design world. She was introduced to this world through her obsession with Orlando Bloom, via the Orlando Bloom Files Message Board. It was there she met her online friend, Amber and was given the nickname Amy. Amber and Amy basically learned graphics together, starting with making siggies on the aforementioned message board. And just look at them now!
You'll probably be happy to know that the love of Amy's life is no longer Zac Hanson. He is now second to her fiance, Mike! (You can see him in the above picture). Mike and Amy started dating on May 4, 2005 and he proposed to her in March of 2006. They live together in their one bedroom apartment with their cats, Ella and Kit and their parakeet Ain, and their wedding is planned for the summer of 2008.
Amy currently works at Target and she is taking classes at Penn Foster in Web Design.
Amy likes - the colors pink and green, Hanson, Ghost Hunters, Survivor, Gilmore Girls, Harry Potter, horses, cats and basically all animals (but especially felines). She likes almost all music (but no rap and only some country).
Amy does NOT like - annoying people, bugs, bad drivers, loud people, brussle sprouts and just about anyone who shops at Target, where she works (you wouldn't BELIEVE how rude and stupid people can be).
